Last updated: 3 November 2026. RefreshPing is a Chrome extension made by Stackbit (Costa Rica).
RefreshPing does not collect, store on our servers, sell or share your personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
When you set a text alert, RefreshPing reads the text of that page inside your browser to check whether your chosen text is there. That text is never sent anywhere and is not saved.
RefreshPing saves, locally in Chrome: your settings per site (interval, text to watch), the date your free trial started, your Pro license key and activation, and a list of your last 20 alerts (time, site name, text). This data stays on your device. Removing the extension deletes it.
The only server RefreshPing contacts is api.polar.sh, run by Polar Software Inc., which sells and manages the Pro license. It receives the license key you enter and a device label (for example "RefreshPing Chrome 130") to activate, validate (about once a week and when you open the popup) and deactivate the key. Payment is handled by Polar; we never see your card details. See Polar's privacy policy.
RefreshPing asks for access to a site only when you start a text alert on it. You can remove that access at any time in chrome://extensions. Plain auto refresh does not need site access.
RefreshPing is not directed at children.
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
